Support Jason Ostroski at The Hike
Affordable and accessible golf matters because public courses are more than just places to play. They are shared community spaces that bring people together, foster inclusion and youth development, create valuable greenspace, and strengthen neighborhoods. That belief is at the heart of National Links Trust.
NLT works to protect and promote affordable, accessible municipal golf by stewarding and rehabilitating historic public courses and restoring them into vibrant, welcoming community assets. Their work also includes investing in programs such as youth workforce development and free golf instruction.
NLT is currently rehabilitating Rock Creek Park Golf Course, one of the nation’s oldest public courses. The project includes expanding the course, upgrading practice greens and facilities, and creating multi‑use trails. This restoration has the opportunity to set a national standard for environmentally sustainable golf, including long‑term net gains in tree canopy, 12.3 acres of meadows, 5.7 acres of pollinator gardens, geothermal and solar power, rainwater capture and reuse, invasive plant management, and expanded native habitat.
That’s why I’m participating in the National Links Trust Hike. By playing and walking 100 holes in a single day, I’m helping raise critical funds to support NLT’s mission—ensuring municipal golf remains accessible to the entire community and continues to provide beautiful green space where people can come together.
If you believe in public golf and the importance of shared community spaces, I’d be grateful for your support. Every donation truly makes a difference.
